Dr. Monica Agrawal is an assistant professor at Duke University, with a joint appointment between the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics and the Department of Computer Science.  She is also a co-founder of Layer Health. Her research revolves around various challenges in clinical natural language processing including information extraction, smarter electronic health records, and human-in-the-loop systems. Dr. Agrawal earned her PhD in Computer Science at MIT and previously obtained a BS/MS in Computer Science from Stanford University.
