Emily Alsentzer is a postdoctoral fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Her research develops trustworthy machine learning and natural language processing methods for healthcare, with a focus on settings with limited annotated data. She earned her PhD from the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology program where she was a recipient of the Microsoft Research PhD Fellowship. She holds degrees in computer science (BS) and biomedical informatics (MS) from Stanford University. Dr. Alsentzer has served as General Chair for the Machine Learning for Health Symposium and founding organizer for the Conference on Health, Inference and Learning (CHIL) and the Symposium on Artificial Intelligence for Learning Health Systems (SAIL).
